Okamoto, Shogo (1920-2001) View Works

Born in 1920, Shogo Okamoto was an active print artist during the Showa Period (1926-1989). He attended Tokyo University of Fine Arts, working mainly in etching and aquatint. During the 1970s and 80s, Okamoto participated in exhibitions in Japan, Canada, France, and China before becoming a professor of printmaking in China in 1983. He known for his masterful landscapes, whether black-and-white or bursting with color.
