Sadanobu III (1881 - 1963 )
Born in Osaka, Sadanobu Hasegawa III combines traditional ukiyo-e subject matter with modern aesthetics. He produced most of his work after World War II, presenting an idealized Japan to a renewed influx of foreigners. Sadanobu III worked largely with Uchida publishers in Kyoto, producing many works in the tanzaku (43 x 12.7 cm) format.
