Born in Osaka, Sadanobu Hasegawa III 三代目長谷川 貞信 combines traditional ukiyo-e subject matter with modern aesthtics. He produced most of his work after World War II, presenting an idealized Japan to a renwed influx of foreigners. Sadanobu worked largely with the Uchida publishers in Kyoto, producing many works in the tanzaku (43 x 12.7 cm)format.
