About the artist
Isao Ikegami is a 20th-century silkscreen artist known for his abstract designs. Born in Tokyo, he attended Musashino University of Fine Arts and graduated with a major in Western Painting. Over a 20-year career as a commercial designer, Ikegami experimented with abstraction through painting. However, following his study in the United States in 1981, he began to explore abstraction through silkscreen printing. His work can be found in collections such as the National Museum of Asian Art, DC, and the Singapore National Museum. Today Ikegami lives in Kanagawa.
