Last Thursday the Ronin Gallery welcomed Masahiko Minami, the winner of the sixth annual Ronin Globus Onbeat Artist-in-residence program, to the gallery’s opening reception. His beautifully contrasting landscapes drew in hosts of guests to the occasion, all joined by their appreciation for Minami’s expertly detailed illustrations. As the night went on, spirited conversations of both art and culture surfaced as guests got the chance to speak with Minami and others with a shared interest in Japanese art. After the reception, discussion continued amongst friends of Minami and patrons of the Artist-in-residence program at the dinner hosted by the gallery at a nearby restaurant. Invitees gathered to celebrate a successful night that will be sure to set the stage for Minami’s continued work in New York City alongside the Ronin Gallery.
