About the artist
Suezan Aikins is a contemporary woodblock print artist known for her delicately colored landscapes and natural scenes. Born in Montreal in 1952, she studied at Mount Allison University, the Ontario College of Art and the L' École du Musee des Beaux Arts before earning a BFA from Novia Scotia College of Art & Design. Aikins and her husband Sam Rogers studied Japanese woodblock printmaking under Toshi Yoshida, and follow the traditional delegation of labor between artist, carver, and printer. While Aikins creates the designs, Rogers executes the carving and printing.
