About the artist
Yoshiharu Kimura was a Japanese woodblock print artist known for his images of owls and other birds rendered in bright colors and metallic embellishment. Born in Tokyo , Kimura began to study printmaking with Kihei Sasajima (1906-1993) in 1954. He became a member of the Japan Print Society in 1962. Over the following decades, he enjoyed multiple group exhibitions and one-man shows in Japan and the United States, including a solo exhibition Philadelphia in 1988.
