About the artist

Yoshifuji Utagawa was a 19th-century woodblock print artist and illustrator. A student of Kuniyoshi Utagawa (1797-1861), Yoshifuji was best known for his musha-e (warrior prints) and omacha-e (toy prints). He also produced children's book illustrations.
