Nobukazu Watanabe (1874 - 1944) was a student of Chikanobu Toyohara during the late Meiji period. He produced detailed and accurate work in the traditional woodblock print format and style. His subject matter was varied, depicting historical scenes, such as those of the Sino-Japanese and Russo-Japanese wars, as well as traditional studies of imperial court ladies. His work is currently featured in a number of prominent collections and exhibitions around the world, including the V&A in London.
