About the artist

Thought to be the student of Hogai Kano, Kin-u Takeshita worked during the Meiji period as a painter. He primarily painted genre scenes, landscapes, and kacho-e, or bird-and-flower prints. In the 1950s, the publisher Uchida released woodblock prints of Takeshita's paintings.
