This triptcych presents the tale of Raiko and the Demon of Oeyana, the Shuten-Doji. The grotesque creature had been kidnapping beautiful young girls and holding them captive within Mt. Oe outside Kyoto. In a heroic turn of events, the great warrior Minamoto no Yorimitsu (Raiko) and his followers seek out the Shuten-Doji, put him into a drunken sleep, and cut off his head. Action fills the triptych as Raiko's followers fight off a slew of goblins. At the center of the tryptich, Raiko brandishes his sword and the demons head flies off into the air. This print is in pristine condition and boasts rich oxidation.
