Meiji Women
Ronin Gallery is pleased to present a collection of Japanese ukiyo-e prints that portray women's fashions, pastimes and customs during the Meiji era (1868-1912). Whether seen boating from the riverbank, conversing on terraces, or reading, writing and painting, these Meiji women portrayed lived a "seemingly idyllic life." Beautifully designed and subtly colored, many of the prints are enhanced with lacquer and embossing.
