Ronin Gallery is very pleased to present a special collection of Masterpieces of 17th,18th and early 19th century Shunga. Many of the works in this exhibition are from an important theatrical family, the Museum of Erotic Art, SF, as well as from the estate of the esteemed actor Rex Harrison. Shunga prints, or literally translated as “spring pictures,” are a genre of Japanese woodblock prints that depict the entire gamut of sensual pleasures. This collection includes works by Moronobu, Masanobu, Harunobu, Koryusai, Utamaro, and Hokusai and other luminaries of the golden age of ukiyo-e.
Please note many of the images in this exhibition are explicit.
