Masao Ido: Kyoto Memories

Masao Ido: Kyoto Memories View Works

True to traditional Japanese design, Masao Ido's Japanese wood prints focus on the tranquil and historic sites of Japan's artistic capital, Kyoto. Renowned for his exquisite kimono designs, Ido brings his command of texture, color, and pattern to the medium of the woodblock print. His prints focus on the natural, serene geometry of everyday streets, temples and gardens which perfectly capture the unique marriage of architecture and nature that is so much a part of Kyoto’s fabric of everyday life. These Kyoto woodblock prints are exhibited internationally and can be found in numerous collections worldwide, including the Los Angles County Museum of Art and the Library of Congress.
