Step into a dream and a world of sweetness and melancholy. Ronin Gallery is pleased to present 20 Kaoru Kawano woodblock prints illustrating children, flowers and birds. Priced from $150 to $550, this collection of affordable art for sale is perfect for holiday gift giving. Kaoru Kawano (1916 - 1965) was a Japanese printmaker active in the sosaku hanga movement. Born in Hokkaido in 1916, Kawano studied at the Kawabata Art School in the mid-1930's. Following successful solo exhibitions in North America, he garnered international renown. Combining Western-style elements with the Japanese woodblock print tradition, his works are appreciated for the simple way in which they incorporate the texture of the wood grain into the overall design.
