Famous Restaurants of the Eastern Capital
Best known for their landscape and kabuki prints respectively, Hiroshige and Toyokuni III (aka Kunisada) were both trendsetters and astoundingly popular artists of their time. Ronin Gallery is pleased to present a selection of prints from the series Famous Restaurants of the Eastern Capital, a collaborative effort by these two luminaries. In each design, Toyokuni III designed the actors and Hiroshige designed the landscape and still life cartouches. All prints in this collection are early impressions, in very fine condition, and many are embellished with burnishing and embossing.
