Born in Tokyo in 1942, Yachiyo Naito 内藤八千代 attended the the Nihon College fine arts program. There she studied oil painting, graduating in 1964, yet turned to printmaking. Cats serve as a favorite subject in her delicately intricate etchings. She has participated in exhibitions in Japan, Spain and U.S.
