Born in Hiroshima prefecture, Hiroto Norikane graduated from the Sokei Academy of Fine Arts. During his formative years, he studied under Hodaka Yoshida and Kiyomi Kato before establishing himself in the genre of mixed media printing. sing etching and mezzotint, his wood etchings concentrate on scenes of rural Japan, as well as other studies of traditional Japanese subject matter. With numerous solo exhibitions worldwide, and his Japanese etchings included in the White House permanent collection, Norikane has an earned international fame.
