Ashikaga, Shizuo (1917 - 1991 )
Shizuo Ashikaga was a painter active during the mid-20th century. Born in Ehime Prefecture in 1917, Ashikaga graduated from Kyoto Municipal Arts University. He studied under Taikan Yokohama and worked primarily as a painter, but produced some kacho-e, or “bird and flowers pictures” for the woodblock printer Uchida in the 1950s.
