Hironaga, Takehiko (1935 - Present)

Born in Fukushima prefecture, Takehiko Hironaga is a self-taught woodblock print artist known for his quiet scenes of rural life. Many of his prints include images of minka, literally "house of the people." With their sloping eaves and thatched roofs, minka present a style of vernacular Japanese architecture.
