Howard, Daryl (1949 - Present)

Daryl Howard is a contemporary American printmaker. After receiving her BFA from Sam Houston State University, Howard lived and taught art at a school in Tokyo during the 1970's. During this time she was introduced to a private collection of 18th and 19th century ukiyo-e prints. Feeling and immediate connection to the works of art and, wanting to learn more about the woodblock printmaking process, she embarked on an apprenticeship with master printmaker Hodaka Yoshida. After she left Japan, she immediately began her MFA at University of Texas - Austin. Her woodblock prints can be found in over 75 private and public collections.
