Sadafusa Utagawa (fl. 1825 – 1850) lived first in Edo where he became a pupil of Kunisada, a great influence on his prints. Sadafusa then moved to Osaka. He worked predominantly within the genre of beautiful women, though he also produced several excellent studies from Kabuki theater. His work is currently included in a number of prominent collections and exhibitions, such as the V&A in London.
