Sho Kidokoro (1934 – 1988) was born in Tokyo and studied at Waseda University, graduating in 1957. His style and technique evolved throughout his career as he mastered woodblock printing to depict a variety of subject matter, achieving particular acclaim for his still life studies. Despite having no formal art training, he was able to develop a global reputation as an artist, having his works featured in exhibitions in Asia, Europe and America.
