Eisho (fl. 1790-1799) View Works

Eisho Chokosai, also known as Shoeido, was a ukiyo-e artist and the most prominent student of Eishi. Eisho produced at least twenty print series with the majority of his work appearing between c.1792 and c. 1799. With such a high volume of pieces, Eisho was thought to be in competition with Utamaro. He specialized in courtesans and the depiction of the Yoshiwara, and also produced a few shunga books.
