About the artist
An exceptional artist of the 20th century, Sadao Watanabe worked primarily in Japanese stencil printing and focused on biblical subjects. He is renowned both in Japan and beyond for his woodblock prints. His work can be found in collections from the Vatican to the Tate Gallery in London.
