About the artist

Born in Hokkaido, Takemi Azumaya is a modern Japanese printmaker known for his detailed lithographs. After graduating from the Painting department of Tokyo Zokei University in 1971, he completed a graduate degree in Painting at Tokyo University of the Arts in 1973. Working in the lithographic medium, he pursued printmaking under the guidance of Tetsuro Komai and Tadayoshi Nakabayashi. Azumaya 's work can be found in collections such as the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and the Museum of Modern Art Toyko.
