About the artist

Yowsaku Sekino is the second son of the sosaku hanga artist Junichiro Sekino. After graduating in 1968 from Chuo University's School of Engineering and Science he worked as a chemist for a number of years before beginning to work for his father. In 1976 he established his own studio specializing in moku hanga. He is a member of numerous art associations and has received many awards. In 2015 , Empress Machiko purchased one of his prints from the CWAJ exhibition for the Imperial Palace collection.
